Wind Surfing / Cave Exploration

Snorkeling: A wonderful activity for the whole family to enjoy! With Bonaire's shallow reefs, there are many areas that offer great snorkeling opportunities right off shore. In fact one of the best areas is almost directly in front of Den Laman in a caved in cement pier we now refer to as "the aquarium. Den Laman guests can also sign up for one of the interesting Bonaire Guided Snorkeling Excursions lead by Bonaire Dive & Adventure Naturalist Jerry Ligon.

A number of sites have been chosen as part of this program, representing a cross section of Bonaire's reef life. Most of the sites are accessed from shore, while some involve short boat trips. Whichever suits you, they all begin with an informative presentation, providing an overview and introduction to that particular snorkel site. After the orientation, Jerry will  lead the group on a guided snorkel, pointing out all sorts of marine life and behaviors.

If you can swim, you can put on a mask and start enjoying the wonderful sea creatures and coral formations. Night snorkeling is another experience that should not be missed. Everything changes at night. All that is needed is a flashlight and some protection for exposed arms and legs and off you go!

Discover Bonaire, based on property at Bonaire Dive & Adventure, offers visitors to Bonaire the opportunity and means to explore the island's multifaceted natural treasures, both above and below water. Trained naturalists are available to take you on guided tours of the island's numerous ecosystems, utilizing kayaks, mountain bikes, dive boats, air-conditioned vans, and even on foot. Or if you prefer to self explore, there are sea kayaks, sit-on-top kayaks, and mountain bikes  available for rent.

To sample a variety of activities, try the Island Explorer Package. This is a five-day program that is ideal for families, couples, or individuals who wish to participate in the diverse activities and learning experiences that are available on Bonaire. For package rates including accommodations please visit our rates and packages page.

Nature & Birding Tours:  Resident expert and naturalist Jerry Ligon is ready to lead you on a very special nature or birding tour, either as part of the Island Explorer Package or as separate excursions. Bonaire's unique location off the Venezuelan coast attracts migratory birds in transit between North and South America. Bird watchers can also observe various species only found in this part of the Caribbean, such as the yellow-shouldered parrot. Bonaire officially has over 200 species of birds that have been sighted here. Nature tours add an introduction to the flora of the island combined with some history and local lore.
